I have a very similar hairline and may do this someday.

Could you share details like where the donor site was, how many follicles, what the procedure and recovery was like?

I've grown bangs to hide it but I'd really rather just be able to not worry about it and put my hair back without getting horrible dysphoria.

They were excellent with a 7* service. Very trans friendly. You make an email enquiry. The receptionist books you in for a video call with the surgeon. Then you go to London for a one to one with the same surgeon. The same surgeon does the transplant in their top of the range clinic/surgical room. After the surgery you get your surgeons mobile number in case you feel the need to ask any questions or are worried about anything. You get detailed after care instructions to follow and then you go back and see the same surgeon 1 Yr after your treatment.

Prior to the procedure you get a form to fill out asking you what radio station you wish to listen to for the first half of the day as you're face down in the chair. You get to choose your lunch. In the afternoon you are face up in the chair and are given the remote control to the TV and you get to choose what you wish to watch. I choose smooth fm and then watched David Attenborough documentaries.

You get lots of anaesthetic so there's minimal pain.

My only regret , not doing it sooner !!!

It was a 1500 graft. The donor area was from the back and sides. My long hair was put into side platts and then the exposed areas shaved. The procedure cost £5,000.00 🇬🇧

Do you have to shave your whole head like men?

No, I have long hair and I wanted to find a clinic who wouldn't shave my head

That looks amazing. Had a quote from FUE clinic in Birmingham for £5500 for similar hairline but I think I've decided not to get this done seperately but as part of full ffs procedure

I've been looking abroad - Dr Jaworowski in Poland and a couple of cĺinics in Thailand. It's mainly down to cost

Excellent result! How many months is the second photo? I'm at 4 months and have some regrowth but it's a waiting game.

So they take a big chunk of flesh from the back and sides and sew it up and use the follicles from there?

I've also seen it done with a robot with like a little apple corer so you get many tiny holes rather than a big chunk.

Was it painful afterwards when the anaesthetic wore off?

No that's in correct.

They extract individual hair follicles from the donor area and re plant them in the area that has baldness.

Oh so like individual follicles rather than a big strip? That's a much better option for me I think.

How were they extracted? Special tool or just literally sliced out individually with a scalpel?

Special tool. A bit like an apple core remover but alot smaller.

Then a small incision is made with a very sharp blade and they are put back in

No pain. They give you a course of medicine to take for a few days after. No pain. No head aches nothing. Absolutely brilliant.
