Dr Laungani was my surgeon and I’m very happy with my results. Congrats on making it this far and I wish you a speedy recovery

Good luck! I've been through there, I've helped several others through there - most recently uh, right now! since I am in the area - so I am well acquainted with GRS-M. It's a "buckle up" kind of feeling at this point but they are very competent and I wish you a great recovery!

We’re you able to pick the surgeon you wanted? Do you know if Belanger is still doing surges?

Thanks for posting this. I just recently got my OHIP approval and am in the gathering documentation for GRS phase so I still have a ways to go.

One thing I don't hear a lot of people talk about is their mental care immediately after surgery. I am thinking that I might want to book a virtual appointment with my therapist for when I'm at the Asclépiade just in case I feel like I need it. Wondering if that is something that others have done.

Good luck! The pre-op waiting is truly the worst, especially as the time ticks closer.

It really hit me that it was real when I checked into the hotel, that was the moment when I was on their timeline instead of hanging out with friends who happen to live in the city.

The mall across the road from the hotel is a nice distraction, otherwise it’s just a bunch of prep, and some final mental preparations.

Once I was at the clinic I felt weirdly calm for most of it (except for when they brought me upstairs way earlier than expected. But that was a mistake)

Enjoy the experience (as much as one can) get lots of rest, but also walk when you can. Be diligent about getting pain meds when you need them.

Meeting others at the convalescent home and talking about this shared experience is still one of my highlights there.

Good luck with everything, I can’t wait to read more about your journey :)
