I marked this post with spoiler as it’s fairly graphic early surgery recovery photos.

Congrats girl. I still have my packing in (for minimal depth until this coming Wednesday).

Yeah. Luckily the pain and swelling is minimal so I’m hoping for a good result when it’s unwrapped lol.

Why packing for minimal depth?

I have no clue? I guess to help with bleeding. He put a huge pressure dressing on it to help control bleeding and swelling.

Minimal depth is confusing to me because is it like a shallow canal or no canal? I see pics of it and some have like 3 inches so maybe that’s shallow depth.

I still have some depth just not like 6 inches. Most likely 1-2 inches of depth.

They don’t use the skin graft from the inverted penis. They just tie it off and anchor to your prostate.

To be honest, I don’t know why my surgeon used packing but she did. 🤷🏼‍♀️

There is supposedly a true “zero depth“ with no canal at all, just the labia. I don’t know of a surgeon that performs it.

Most are performing minimal depth, which is the dimple. Rather than cutting between the prostate and rectum and inserting the inverted penis skin into the cavity, then tie off the skin before the graft and anchor it to the front of the prostate. Depending on how deep your prostate is, you could have up to 4” of depth.

She’s still very swollen. He had to redress it with a pressure dressing today to help alleviate some of the swelling. I also have to be in the hospital for a few more days.

The pain is tolerable. A lot better since he took the dressing off.

I have a lot less pain today than I did the past few days. It’s more pressure and discomfort from the catheter and drains. It’s is definitely worth it to me. Just seeing that I have a vagina makes the pain so much less and I’m so happy.

Agh that looks intense. What are those on either side? Are they tubes for drainage? I'm trying to get on the list. Calling at lunch tomorrow for initial consult

They’re called JP drains. They drain fluid to help take down excess swelling after surgery.
