I had full depth surgery with Dr. Hanna two months ago. I also experienced some wound separation almost exactly like yours, and it's healing steadily. I appreciate that I can email him any time with my questions, and get a reply the same day.

Correction: first photo was 4 days post op. Just had pressure dressing removed.

It looks as if the stitching came apart at the bottom left. 😢

Yes. But not worried about it just yet.

Very common for stitching to come apart. They almost always heal up with no complications. Also congrats you look AMAZING!!!!!!!

3-3.5" depending on whether you measure to the entrance or the vulva. 3.5" would be the first dot on the SoulSource dilator.

I had an old rectal injury from 20 years ago. There was scar tissue that made it difficult to locate the correct "planes" and he didn't want to give me a fistula so he stopped there.

I'm trying to talk to him about doing a PPT revision so he can approach from the other side, but I don't think he's very hopeful of the outcome.

I'm waiting for healing to complete before I decide just how much of an issue this really is.

I'm disappointed, but I think I would have been even more disappointed with a fistula. So there's that.

Yeah trust me a fistula isn’t pleasant. Lots of things you can’t imagine can happen from one. Also no he wouldn’t want to risk even the remote possibility of one happening. My best advice is wait a few more years then look because technology will advance. There will be 3D imaging of the body and planes and all that stuff. It’s better to be precise more than anything when it comes to this.

I read an article on pubmed about using MRI to evaluate post-op vaginoplasty results. I'm going to ask my PCP to order one since I've met my out of pocket this year. I wish I'd thought of it prior.

That sounds great. But seriously if there is a big risk of a fistula don’t get it. I don’t want others to experience what I did. The only way out is a 3d or imaging map and robotic stuff. Im looking into that for a revision which some surgeons are confident I can get. I’m in a stable place right now and doing good.
