Hi there, no doc here, but I definitely wouldn't put moisturizer or any other thing than antibacterial lube for the dilation near that area until it heals completely

How long ago did that red bright granulation start?

Yeah I wonder if what he meant was for me to use a humectatnt like aquaphor?

Oh it's been around for a while, I just couldn't get help with it until like a month ago.

I think you should get a second opinion. His follow up, to be as restrained as I possibly can, is known to be extremely poor and he has given potentially dangerous and even life-threatening advice in the past. I don’t think this is that serious, but I don’t think this is a “moisturizer” situation.

Not for the whole thing obviously. Just that white part. Moisturizer is a reasonable answer for a callus.

I know he can be a bit, brief, but I am confident that he knows what he is talking about.

Tbh consider the situation first, as a doctor how effectively can you diagnose solely based on some pictures and basic written description.

For any effective diagnosis you want to do an actual thorough check yourself and possibly followups to confirm it is one thing and not the other.

Now considering he does like 6 vaginoplasties a week, i dont want to imagine his inbox xd

I had some wound separation and a hematoma at my first follow-up after bottom surgery. They sent me home with a lifetime supply of aquaphor and told me to apply it to my incisions three times a day.

Yeah I was doing that around the incisions up top but that's a hard to get at area so I didn't there I was also unaware early on just how bad my separation was down there (I believe it was 3cm) but that's hard to conceptualize especially with everything going on ya know?

Vulva moisturizer. I use this, recommended by my pelvic therapist after my surgery. Enchanted Rose vulva balm from Intimate Rose. Available on Amazon

Oh interesting. Did you have a similar problem or was it more of a general purpose use?

I would ask him which product he recommends before trying any suggestion from the Internet.

This is my own idea, that my nurses said would be okay. Where I live there is a triple antibiotic ointment called polysporin. I mixed that half and half with my lube for dialating. I’ve used it my whole life to heal things faster. Couldn’t hurt since it speeds healing..

Also. Keep your diet and health as good as possible so your body has what it needs to heal.

I'm very familiar with polysporin that stuff is awesome. I can see with my gp if they think it will have an effect at this point.

Thank you.

My canal didn't like when I tried that.

Might be because I have a PIV hybrid canal?

Maybe something like cerave healing ointment would help? Not the same situation, but the product is pretty easy to apply and generally stays. Smooth recovery to you ❤️‍🩹

Wow, that’s looks so painful. You’re surgeon is terrible, I’d go else where tbh.

As I said, it's uncomfortable, not painful.

Also, granulation tissue is a common complication. I am exploring a revision with someone else, but he was willing to work on me and others like me when not many will.

So, he has earned my support.

Dr. Ramineni is known to abandon patients for some reason. Try manuka honey.

Abandon or not following up?

The two look the same depending on perspective.

I do have a consultation with Del Corral but the hope is that it's just for the canal and everything else is already resolved.
