When you let the hair grow on your genitalia, does it cover your scar line ?

not really sure, i’ve been lasering for a while so don’t really grow hair there anymore but i’d imagine it would

Have you tried silicon strips on your scars? That could potentially be helpful.

No prob! My FFS surgeon recommended them for post op and said that generics are just as good as any name brand. Google "Scar Away" to find them.

yup, it helps as your body does not grow more cells when another cell is touching it. Basically the silicone sheet will be interpreted as skin cells so you wont get raised scars.

17
OP

i think dilating will forever be an annoyance. if i’m in a good mood i don’t mind as much but if i’m tired/grumpy/sad or just not feeling good it feels like the most exhausting task. it really is a mind over matter type of situation, but it’s not painful just boring and annoying

How is the peeing situation ? I’m looking out for a surgeon who makes the urethra the „cis“ way, where the urine stream goes backwards while crouching.

Eat less.

9
Thu Feb 15 08:44:11 2024 UTC
(6 children)

That really doesn't help with a stocky bone structure. But yeah, I should eat less

9
Thu Feb 15 10:04:05 2024 UTC
(5 children)

Don't listen to that nasty comment. You don't need to eat less. Just eat more variety?

6
Fri Feb 16 03:03:59 2024 UTC
(0 children)

don’t attempt to alter your eating habits unless your weight is genuinely unhealthy, and do so under the guidance of a doctor.

as someone with an eating disorder, eating disorders fucking suck. don’t give yourself one.

-18
Thu Feb 15 10:25:19 2024 UTC
(3 children)

CICO. Eat less, or stay at a weight that doesn't satisfy you. That simple.

1
Thu Feb 15 10:37:45 2024 UTC
(2 children)

Yeah, eat more variation. Eat more fruit, eat more vegetables, eat less rice/pasta/potato, eat less meat unless you are body building... what's so hard to understand about eating more variation?

It's ultimately about a deficit. What you eat can also be important, but if it's ultimately about losing weight, you gotta eat less calories than you burn. It's that simple.

-6
Thu Feb 15 22:57:42 2024 UTC
(0 children)

It's all about calories, not about what you eat. What you eat may affect your metabolism slightly but at the end of the day a calorie deficit will help you lose weight, a calorie surplus will gain you weight. Everyone's booing me but it's proven science. No one wants to hear that they have to eat less if they want to lose weight.

Where is Dr. Chettawut based? Is it in Thailand?

6

He’s based in the WIH hospital in Bangkok.

1
Thu Feb 15 11:24:00 2024 UTC
(12 children)

Thanks! Any idea how much it costs in euro/dollar/british pound, to get your surgery done there?

6
Thu Feb 15 12:09:07 2024 UTC
(3 children)

I think it cost my friend £20,000, might be up to £28,000. Depends what surgery specifically, and whether she counted flights under that cost when she told me.

But I’m not 100% sure sorry.

3
Thu Feb 15 12:10:24 2024 UTC
(2 children)

Fair enough. I'm wondering if I can get it covered as a medial expense.... like if for example i were to "live" there for a while 👀. I know i could with other things when I was living in Japan

5
Thu Feb 15 12:19:00 2024 UTC
(1 child)

I have no idea. But I did notice that there were no Thai patients in the vaginoplasty ward when I was there.

I saw Thai patients having other things done. But it’s my belief that most Thais can’t afford surgery from Bank or Chett. So I’m assuming there’s no medical cover.

Depending on where you live you may be better off having it done at home if money is an issue.

Im aiming for Thailand. But it’s unlikely for me.

Yeah, I've seen such good aesthetic results, and I've heard good things about sensitivity and so on. I live in Sweden atm, but if it is possible to actually get the money back, then I'd rather do it in Thailand. I haven't heard good things about Swedish GRS surgeons 😬

4
Thu Feb 15 14:04:56 2024 UTC
(7 children)

I'm booked with Chet in November and it's worked out at £18k including flights from the UK for myself and my partner, plus an Airbnb for my partner near the hospital for a month. It's an extra £5k if you're wanting either PPT or colon methods though.

2
Thu Feb 15 14:07:36 2024 UTC
(3 children)

Thanks for the info. I'm a bit clueless what the difference between inversion technique and PPT. I did a quick Google but still don't get the difference. Would you mind explaining?

4
Thu Feb 15 15:26:27 2024 UTC
(2 children)

I'm far from an expert, but the main difference between all the techniques is the material used to construct the vaginal canal. The default option for most surgeons is the penile inversion technique (PIV), which is exactly what it sounds like and penile skin is used to construct the vagina. It can also be made from part of the colon, or using some peritoneal lining from the abdomen (PPT). Dr Chettawut (and other Thai surgeons) tend to favour using scrotal skin grafts to construct the vagina, which can result in more material being available for construction of inner and outer labia when compared with the traditional penile inversion method.

2
Thu Feb 15 15:51:43 2024 UTC
(1 child)

So Chettawut uses a different technique from PIV and PPT right?

2
Thu Feb 15 20:13:12 2024 UTC
(2 children)

Do you know if there is any surgeons in the US that use this same method? Or do a lot already use this method and this surgeon in Thailand is like the best at this method?

Her results are the best I’ve ever seen I believe, but I plan to use my insurance for my surgery and I do not believe that it will be covered if it’s out of the country

2
Thu Feb 15 20:58:31 2024 UTC
(1 child)

I know there definitely are some, look out for people referring to it has hybrid-PIV or something similar. I don't really know much about US surgeons though I'm afraid as being from the UK there's no way they could ever be affordable for me!
