My surgeon's protocol is to allow a week of rest after packing is removed and then start dilating after that. I will dilate for the first time tomorrow, and I'm pretty nervous. I know so many people who are very happy with her results, so I'm trying to trust the process.

I have a consult set up with Dr gast but I’ve been nervous to go to her due to mixed reviews.

If you don’t mind my asking, did you do a full, shallow or no depth?

I’d love to stay close to home (NE WI) and I just had Dr Chaiet for my FFS and everything went great with his team. If you could give anything, I’d be greatly appreciative!

Go to the best surgeon you can. You only get one chance to do it properly.

This was my thought. Just having reservations made me believe I should look elsewhere. Thank you!

I did.a full depth. I just had my post op and everything seems to be healing well! I've started dilating and it's a lot of pressure, but not painful. The swelling is going down, and I'm very happy. Dr. Gast and her team are freaking amazing.

That’s fantastic to hear. I’m hoping to get 7/7.5 inches

That depends on how much skin graft material is available. Dr. Gast told me that 13.5cm is average, and I have just under that, but can probably stretch as I get.more used to dilating. Unless you have a lot of source material, 7 inches might be ambitious. I'm hoping to have 6 after I graduate to the biggest dilator.

That makes sense. I’m not sure exactly how the process goes but currently I’m working with 7 in of current genitalia, full staff. So I was hoping that would work in my favor

Yeah. I'm no doctor, but it feels like that amount of supplies would be beneficial! Mine shrunk considerably on HRT, but I'm told can stretch back out with dilation.

I’m actually forcing myself to keep using it to prevent shrinkage because I’m scared of not getting what I need lol. But that’s definitely great to hear! I’ve wondered how that can work with dilating

Unfortunately I was in a very abusive relationship during early HRT and using what I had was not really in the cards due to my mental and emotional state, so I atrophied. I'm wishing you all the good vibes, and you can always message me. I'm an open book. I will post more pics and updates when I have healed a bit more. I actually get to go HOME tomorrow night.
