I’m sure this has been a very distressing experience for you but please don’t lose hope. I recommend consulting with multiple surgeons that preform GRS and see what they think about what’s possible with a revision. Go with reputable surgeons. Weigh in all their feedback and lead into this revision informed and strong. As I have seen from other people’s experience you can come back from this.

I do not think you can sue a military doctor, but you can use a lawyer to help make TRICARE pay for the revision.
It looks like you can now file for medical malpractice against military doctors (i am not military though so not sure, just wanted to drop the info because this would 100% be warranted)

Not sure how the laws work, or if he'll somehow be protected by the VA, if you pursue legal action.. but there is no excuse for this level of incompetence..
Your results are criminal and I wish you justice, but if anything and above all... peace, happiness, and an incredible revision with full functionality and incredible aesthetics that you deserved the first time around.

While it appears this individual was most likely given no other option for a surgeon due to military service. It is so import that we all do our research & the Wiki attached to this group is a perfect place to start. It is just as important record your results both positive & negative for those still researching.
If this surgeon doesn't have wiki, this result should be added and could help someone in the future convince the VA that this surgeon should be removed from consideration.

I’m so sorry. You’re going to be fine. You’re going to get a revision from a surgeon( a competent surgeon) like you deserved the first time around. I would consult a lawyer and see what if anything can be done legally. That is an entirely unacceptable outcome.

Well ? this needs to be considered as a complete redo SRS in reality , absolutely not acceptable ! -- Theerapong as someone mentioned is not quite able with this outcome shown I don't feel being honest , despite I had Sigmoid colon revision 2022 fall with him - but ? -- The one Surgeon in Brazil ( Dr. Marcio Littleton ) I think would be worth consulting and also does surgery in Portugal, who I think could actually do this serious revision -- if done in Rio Brazil bye Littleton , they have more options to radically fix and not so much under scrutiny like in the US North America compared to in Brazil -- don't travel without a companion in Brazil -- it's an issue of safety being Trans in Brazil !
I’m hoping I can figure something out idk if I’m going to be able to get the military to pay for a civilian surgeon to do my revision. Right now the current 2025 NDAA has a provision that if signed into law would ban the Department of Defense from funding gender reassignment surgery entirely.

I'm sorry this happened to you, I can't imagine the distress you must be feeling. May I know what lead to such severe complications? If you want a doctor who has been specializing in failed SRS you can try Dr Alvaro Rodriguez in Cali, he uses a technique that uses tilapia skin graft (yes, that's fish skin I'm talking about) and I know from personal experience he can deliver a cis looking vagina that can moist and wet itself.

I see an awful amount of scar tissue. But if you look into PPT (peritoneal pull through) you might not need the skin graft? It’s definitely worth exploring with as many qualified revision specialists as you can.

This doctor needs to be in jail for mutilating another human being.
I've never heard of a doctor recommending someone gain weight to have more material for a skin graft. Sounds very unusual and not confidence inspiring. I'd consider other options.
Also, I'm sorry you're going through this! This is cearly not an acceptable surgical outcome. You deserve better care than you received. I hope you'll be treated better where ever you get your revision!

Trying to find legal representation through Judge Advocate General Corp. As I’m active duty military and this surgery was performed at a medical treatment facility. The 2021 National Defense Authorization Act is what allows military medical malpractice claims in the first place. Before you couldn’t sue the DoD.
