So it was fine. Really not that big of a deal. I got myself all sweaty anticipating it. The facility was first class, treated like a queen. They brought me wine and tangerines and apples. Door dash for dinner. I had recto, so abdominal, but it's laproscopy.
Recovery delayed a bit cause of Thanksgiving weekend. The cath stayed in a bit late. That was frankly the worst part.
Cath was pulled out last Wednesday. I was under a local when they cut the zips. So liberating. Its like, post surgical, then they turn you loose. I'm dilating now.
Bed rest was good. The last couple days I left the house. Carefully. Starbucks and lunch. Super paranoid about tearing the zips.
I'd heard horror stories but nothing like that happened. There is a thing with inner thigh muscles. Its like I'm pulling left/right instead of down?
I mostly lay around with a fan blowing on it. I did not find much benefit from ice packs. Barely touched the pain meds. I have a store of oxycodone haha.
Honestly, it's boring. I ate a lot of fruit and cleared my netflix cue. No real screaming pain. Dull ache and discomfort. My son was awesome. You need at least one good person around you.
So that's it. YMMV but I got lucky. Looks and feels good. Lubricating, deep cavity, super sensitive.
The main thing I'd say is the recovery period, until the surgical crap comes out. That's when you feel complete.
