Yes, hip implants are an option. They're solid silicone placed subcutaneously. There's also a more experimental kind that screws into the bone that you can get in Korea. If you have enough fat, that's likely a better option. I'm very skinny, BMI ranges between 18-21, and planning on getting buttock implants and fat transfer to my hips. However, I was blessed with decently feminine hips and mostly want to fill in the dips rather than adding a large amount of lateral projection. Hope this helps.

This helps a lot. I'm also very interested in the Korean ones. Thank you.

A year or two ago there was some company developing 3D printed carbon fiber or titanium implants that would be screwed onto the hip bones. Not sure what ever came of it though.

Not sure if there's been any progress, or if it's actually been tested yet.

Soooooo.. Here's their reply:

"Thank you for reaching out and for your interest in pelvic plasty procedure.

We are currently in the stage of getting approval by the KFDA which we expect to be completed by fall this year. Once the approval is done in S. Korea, we can then begin setting appointments as we have the devices ready to be used in surgery. It will be available in the U.S after FDA regulation approval.

The cost of the surgery is estimated at $14,000 and will be done by Dr. Won, the founder and head of the team in Osty Meditech. He is currently residing in S. Korea and if you are willing to travel, the surgery will be done at Konyang University Hospital.

If you are interested to be waitlisted, please let us know your name and email. We will update you on the waitlist information as soon as the regulation is approved.

Thank you for contacting us, and if you have further questions feel free to email us anytime.

All the best,

This is from October 2018

I received the following reply:

We are in the stage of waiting for the approval by the KFDA. We have the devices ready to be used in clinical trial.

KFDA regulation will be approved in approximately 3 months from now. Once the approval is done in S.Korea, pelvic Plasty will be available in 2019 spring in S.Korea only.

The surgery will be available in U.S after FDA regulation approval.

Price of the surgery will be estimated as $14,000 in S.Korea. (Estimated time for hospitalization is less than a week and you can immediately walk. There will be no limitations except wound care)

Dr Won is currently residing in S.Korea and if the patient is willing to travel, the surgery will be done in Konyang University Hospital.

If you are interested in the email/waitlist, please let us know your name and email. We will update on the waitlist information once the regulation is approved.

Thank you for contacting us, and if you have further questions feel free to contact us.

Not “implants” per se but you can do a fat transfer or a BBL to achieve the effect you’re looking for

Why not implants, though? I'm anxious that fat transfer won't be permanent.

Also what's a BBL?

Have a look in the wiki here.

A BBL is a Brazilian Butt lift taking fat from parts of your body and putting it in your butt

Never get silicone implants. They're toxic

Implants are not, injections are something else

BBL sounds like the best option, but are incredibly risky and could be deadly if something goes wrong.

Correct, look here

They have changed techniques since then in an attempt to make it safer, but I'm not aware of any evidence that it is. Hopefully it's just a matter of time.

They're only slightly riskier than any other plastic surgery procedure, you're scaremongering.

As of 2015 bbl death rate was 1 in 3000 according to a very reputable and influential study. It's an extremely risky surgery as these things go. Since that study the techniques have changed, but I'm not aware of any evidence that the death rates have.

Damn, I guess I'm scaremongering for not knowing
