Are you in the US? I wasn't aware of facialteam deferring surgeries for patients not coming from hormones.
Hot zones not hormones :)
Aaaaah gotcha
that really sucks,

So you booked a surgery in a country knowing that the country was not admitting Americans at that time or since? Why would you not wait to book your surgery until Spain lifted their travel ban on the US?
At the time I booked there was no talk of restrictions for US citizens due to covid.
Sooo, let me get this straight... You booked your surgery and paid the deposit. So far so good. They cancelled your date because of Covid. That's understandable. They offered you an alternative date that wouldn't work for you. Ok fine. But rather than work with them to reschedule for a date that would work, you cancelled entirely? And presumably asked for your deposit back? Sounds like you owe them an admin fee for booking with them and then cancelling without rescheduling, regardless of the Covid situation.
Did they disclose at the time you booked that they charge nonrefundable admin fees due at time of booking? If not, that's a reason to be upset, but if they told you about those fees in advance then I don't see what the problem is.
At time of booking I was informed that if I needed to cancel I would be able to do so fully, no fees.
Hrm, yeah, if they gave you that in writing then you should definitely go back and argue with them about that.

On my quote it said very clearly that there was a €300-600 administrative fee if you cancel the surgery at least 60 days in advance . This info should be in the quote (pdf file) you received /u/soafafilla . Not sure why it would be $900 though.
Sorry for resurrecting a dead thread but just wanted to inform everyone. Admin fees suck, I agree, but they made it pretty clear I think.
Hello, I’m the community manager for FACIALTEAM. We sincerely regret to hear your complaint and are looking into the details. Please contact your coordinator directly on Monday to discuss this as, in these uncertain times, we are indeed offering our patients greater flexibility in regards to rescheduling and cancellations. I encourage you to contact the coordinator to discuss this in greater detail.
We hear your frustration and have been working very hard to minimize all the disruptions in surgical schedules due to COVID-19, so appreciate your patience and consideration in the meantime.
Thank you.
Regards, Lilia Koss
With due respect, I have been working with my coordinator: Isabel Osuna, and they have not been flexible at all on terms of cancelling. I don't see how going back to this same person, who's been obstinate, is going to help me. Rather, this seems more like an attempt to save face on reddit by being beaurocratic without providing any actual help.
Did this get resolved?

This post in the wiki if that's any consolation.
Where’s the wiki
Thx
I could see maybe $50. But $900 is highway robbery.
It's normally a $300 fee that they keep but because I had requested hair transplant it's $600.
That is not ethical. You need to push back on this through the institution/university or the state medical board.
I don't live in Spain so I don't think I have much I'm terms of fighting this other than spreading the word of how fucked they are.
It's not right of them to have done this, but I caution people booking with anyone now to discuss this ahead of time. In May I scheduled with a US-based surgeon for two weeks ago and before doing so I asked that they waive a rescheduling fee if it needed to be postponed due to COVID and they obliged. Surgeons should be prepared to do this for the foreseeable future imo.

I cancelled because they wanted to push it back to November-2021. Which I can't commit to as I already have obligations for work. September.
