You gave me a scrare when I saw your username, but then I saw the perfect result and your comment haha. So happy for you, looks really good, I'll eventually go with Brassard :D

How were you treated, care to share your experience ?

The care was top notch, no complaints at all from when I was there. I live far away from Montreal so most of my after care was with my personal doctor.

Congrats, I have my surgery in 9 days with Brassard. Looking forward to positive results! everything I’ve read says his team is top notch, I feel safe going even during Covid, seeing results like yours makes me know I’m in good hands!!

Mine's in 11 days with Brassard :P They probably prioritize surgery tests so I wouldn't be too worried.

Wait they do? I’m in Ontario and they’ve said literally nothing about that

As far as I know, in Quebec tests results are prioritized depending on your job/age/current condition. I don't know if that is the case in Ontario.

yeah ontraio doesn't prioritize. i'm thinking about sucking it up and paying the 50-80$ for a private test just so I know it'll come back in 72h or less.

Yeah that’s what they told me too. Honestly I’d be ok paying anyway if I could get one that is health Canada approved. Like I’m as worried about getting people sick as I am about them cancelling. Even if it’s not gonna get me in any legal trouble I just wanna make sure the doctors and nurses are ok so they don’t have to shut down due to exposure and cancel for other people getting srs

I’ve still been out almost every day to run errands but tbf I was in school and only got offered my date 13 days ago, so I had less than 3 weeks to cancel my life and get my postop stuff together

I haven’t been told to get tested, I was told to quarantine for 2 weeks and to let them know if I have any symptoms when I am in montreal.

I don't think my experience with the wait would be relevant to today's post Covid world. In all is was 9 months from referral to surgery.

If you don't mind, how long into transition did you wait until SRS?

I had this surgery almost two years after starting hrt

OK good to know thanks :) , I'll start HRT in a week and I was wondering how long I should wait.

You need to get off HRT for SRS anyways. Its more about waiting to be sure about it.

So it's pretty much a standalone surgery, does not depends on others or HRT, good to know thanks :)

Typically you need to be on hrt for a year before getting SRS. For government funding here you need to have 1 year before starting the referral process

ahh really... and you can't schedule an appointment before the year is up I guess ?

Are you from Québec by any chance ? I'm about to go see Dr Dupuis, was wondering if you dealt with him.

I am not, I'm from the opposite side of the country.

You can send everything before the one year mark as long as your endocrinologist signs the letter stating your starting date. That's what my endo did.

You do need to see a therapist for a few month depending on country regulations.

Amazing! My usual two questions: what’s it like to be penetrated (besides the excitement of being able to have sex like any other woman, of course) and to pee sitting?

I have to wait until around February before I can start the paperwork for my srs, but my doc is going to start it with my appointment that month. I'll almost certainly be going to Brassard, and seeing posts like this just help me feel optimistic about it. So thank you so much 💙💙💙😊
