I had to have an EKG for all three of my procedures under general anesthesia but in my case it was because of my age. I knew it was coming so no big deal.
Thank you. Hoping for the best
I live with it every day and need to take a potassium tablet every day to maintain the right levels. I have A fib heart all the time so I envy you for being able too have SRS. I never can.
I'm so sorry to hear that. Hopefully one day you'll be able to. Stay positive and never loose hope.
I lost all hope at the stroke of midnight. I was told I am to sick for even HRT. They are not (doctors) willing to take the risk of losing me but that’s what I am doing.
I’d get some second opinions on the hrt. Some doctors are really conservative and if they don’t know they just say no.
I had an ECG as part of my pre-surgical assessment as I have a childhood history of heart murmurs, but I didn't see a dedicated cardiologist.
Good luck, hope all is well. X
Thank you! Hopefully I'm able to get an appointment and get everything done before my surgery date so I don't need to reschedule!
It heard about low potassium before, it should be easy to fix.
Yes I'm eating high potassium food but what I'm most worried about is having to reschedule my surgery 😔
This is copied from here , page 248.
Hypokalemia, or low potassium, is a significant risk under anaesthesia due to the dangers of blood loss and irregular heartbeat. Dr Dilaka, the anaesthetist, prescribed a potassium supplement for Johanna to drink the day before surgery. It might have tasted like a “horrible bitter mix of bananas and copper coins”, but it restored her potassium levels to normal before surgery.
It doesn't say when, but I expects its within a few days of surgery as its in Thailand.
Thank you! I will talk to them to see if there's anything I they can provide me to fix this matter. I've never had any health issues so this is very new to me. I'm mad it popped out at the wrong time
That’s apart of getting ready for surgery ekg and blood work should be do 3 to 4 weeks prior to surgery ur doctor should have gave u these instructions
