I obviously don’t know all the details surrounding this case but I find it hard to believe that an infection starting at 30+ days post-op would be due to unhygienic surgical practices. Possibly due to poor post-op care instructions, but unlikely due to the surgery itself. Source: am a doctor.

That's actually the pattern with most such complications. It's incredible how many patients are just so extremely careless and ignore instructions entirely, and are then surprised that they get infections or worse.

Thrombosis 1½ weeks after release? After refusing to wear compression socks, not taking any bloodthinners, and staying in bed the whole time after release? Well then don't be surprised about thrombosis...

Immediately after surgery going to the balcony to smoke, refusing to eat anything except the junk food you order into the hospital while you're not supposed to chew yet, and then being surprised when the scars in your mouth rip open, get necrotic, and you're fucked?

Washing your hair with your own honey and whatever conditioners and all instead of the antibacterial soap you've been given after forehead reduction, because you don't want your hair to look bad? Then don't be surprised about the scar getting infected.

I accompanied my gf to 2pass, and the behaviour I saw from the other patients was absolutely mind boggling, as if they tried their best to destroy their results.
