Did you go to Dr. Douglass?

Thank you! I do heal very quickly in general (this is my 4th surgery in 2 years, 3 of which were gender related), so that is absolutely a factor. But im thrilled regardless, because something can always go wrong no matter who you are.

Wow!! congrats to you! That is going to be a fantastic result, I mean it is now, but a year from now, I'd say it's as good a I've seen.

Great, now I'm just jealous. All I got was 4 years of pain and suffering.

Seriously, I hope everyone get results like this and we have every right to demand it. CIS people sure would.

So sorry to hear about your experience. I feel extremely grateful for my recovery.

Unfortunately, surgery in general is sometimes a roll of the dice, and trans operations come with so much more risk. The "care" we are offered is often not care at all, and you don't know until you're in the thick of it.

There is such little honest information available to us about providers except for from the people in our community. I just hope we can continue to build resources for each other so we can continue to get the care we deserve.

I hope you can find some peace in your situation.

I appreciate that and I agree with everything you said. I believe that risk should be reasonable from both ends. As it stands now we are assuming 100% of that risk and any recourse we may have had in the past is being eaten away. It's a surgeons market and will be for a very long time and overall the outcomes appear to be acceptable. Unfortunately, this is little comfort to those people who feel their choices are so limited by insurance, location or any other reason, and end up with all kinds of complications --some of which are not repairable.

Feeling good! I've been able to be up and about for nearly a week. I get very fatigued after 10 minutes or so, but am able to get a snack or do the dishes maybe once a day. Pain is minimal, with some shooting pains sometimes, which I think is feeling coming back.

Thanks! I knew McGinn is our area. Didn’t realize there were other great options as well

Yeah, I had a consult with McGinn, but I felt better about the team at Temple, and am very happy with my choice.

Their program is barely 2 years old, so it may not have even been an option at that point

You're 100% a fake troll who just scrolls through trans threads to shit on people. Maybe reevaluate your life if that is how you choose to spend your free time, you sad little nugget of a man.

How much did surgery cost if you don't mind me asking?

It was covered by Medicaid, so I didn't pay anything
