Dr. Ting at Sinai

Nice. Are you living in that area for awhile? How is it? I ask because I'm giving Dr. Ting serious consideration myself for my "down there" surgery.

EDIT: Punctuation.

I’ve lived in the area for 9 years now… lived in Brooklyn for 6 years and then moved to Jersey and lived here for the past 3 years.

The area is nice depending where you are. Do you have any specific questions? Nyc and Jersey are so varied. Nyc is all city, you’ll find nicer areas and then not so nice areas, and then there is also what seems like a gradual gentrification of nyc, especially in Brooklyn. Most places I think are more or less safe.

Jersey is much more suburbs with some city elements, especially near nyc. The more popular areas are Hoboken and Jersey city, and northward into fort Lee. Again, haven’t had any issues being visibly trans. Spas let me use the women’s changing room when I had a penis, if that tells you anything.

Happy to answer any other questions.

I'm a Connecticut college student in a spot that is well over an hour away from literally any and all GCS surgeons. So I guess I'm interested in knowing how you pull off living arrangements while you're still this fresh out of surgery.

Oh, by the way. Your results look fantastic so far. Congratulations.

Hmm… I’ve read a lot of people do Airbnb if they are coming from out of state. But you’ll absolutely need help for the first few weeks.

Duly warned. I made some noise with Dr. Winnegrad's office too about the same issue. (Mass General Hospital) I guess I have some more homework to do. I've never stayed at an Airbnb before.

Just scheduled with Avanessian for next year and they require you to stay in the area and line up someone to assist you 24/7 for 4 weeks post on. I plan to go the Airbnb route.

I like that idea. I'm curious. Do you think it's a good idea to bring another person to stay with you or do you feel safe going theough this 4 week ordeal alone?

They require you to have somebody with you there around the clock for those 4 weeks.

Aw damn when I saw Sinai I was hoping it was in Chicago!! Your results look so promising, I was hoping I could get the same without going so far from home. Not that I’ve looked into surgeons out here though, I’m sure there are good ones here too. Although Ting appears to be a real groundbreaker

Also, follow up, did you get a peritoneal VP? I have read that Ting invented that, right?

I’m happy so far. Only 11 days. Things will change a lot over the next few months.
