If you paid for this consult by card, I would 100% file a charge back for services not rendered/as advertised. Given that vibe, I'd also look elsewhere. Really sorry you went through that.

Unless the consultation was advertised as being only 10 minutes, which would already be a major red flag, you weren't given a proper consultation. That not nearly enough time to properly discuss questions about any kind of surgery. Hell, the FREE consultation I had for laser hair removal was longer than that, and this was for a series of 10 minute non-invasive outpatient treatments not a major operation!

So here's the thing, it sounds like you're going for BBL/Lipo. She's technically not wrong, but she's making a ton of assumptions. First, bodies on testosterone typically store more fat VISCERALLY than bodies on estrogen. Estrogen bodies store fat more SUBCUTANEOUSLY. This is what she's referring to when she says "men" gain fat in the inside of their stomachs. Unfortunately, we live in a shit society that can't distinguish between a category called "Man" and people on testosterone. It's one and the same to them.

The problem then becomes, do you want to go to a surgeon who is uneducated on trans healthcare? A trans friendly surgeon would phrase it like I have above and suggest more time on estrogen if your fat hasn't redistributed enough. Or maybe suggest exercise to burn the visceral fat since it burns faster than Subcutaneous. The problem with cis-centric surgeons is that they don't understand how HRT affects the body so unless you're already an ideal candidate, they're not going to be of much help and will likely just say hurtful things like she already has.

Is she transphobic? maybe a bit. but really, she's just uneducated on trans bodies and doesn't understand that fat distribution isn't set in stone and is influenced by HRT

If you can't trust in a person that will perform a surgery on you, look for a different person.

Any surgeon who goes "all trans people are the same" and "all male and female bodies are the same" is either a transphobe or incompetent. Would not let them near me, ever.
