I'm very early on HRT but I'm interested in getting this surgery at some point in the future. My biggest concern is preserving length while on hrt as so I can have depth. How did you preserve your length assuming that you were taking HRT?

I did nothing to preserve length- but the suporn method doesn't require it. They don't use penile inversion technique, and iirc use the scrotum for vaginal canal. This means he can nearly always get at least 6 inches of depth (I believe he said he guaranteed 5 and reaches 6 in 98%) of cases, independent of your length. (:

OH SNAP, I didn't realize there were different techniques. I may start taking a T-blocker then. Thank you 😊

There are! I can't tell you all about them but they're definitely worth looking into the differences.

You only need estrogen to block your T, nothing else.

Than wat does a t blocker do other then the obvious. I thought it helped with the changes.

It's redundant for the vast majority of people. T blockers are just based on failed old school medicine. If you get healthy levels of E, like around 200-300, your body will just down regulate the T on it's own(block it).

Read about estrogen monotherapy! There are other uses for blockers very rarely, but don't let anyone put you on Spiro if they do(low dose Bica is better). Spiro is poison. Good luck with your transition :).

My doctor put me on Cypro for the first year, made sure my T was completely eliminated. Then Estradiol mono therapy. I think the idea is that as long as the estrogen completely overwhelms the hormone receptors, the T will stay down.

I think a lot of people do have trouble eliminating T in the first stage on monotherapy?

Only if they are in a hurry. It's a marathon not a sprint. Monotherapy can down regulate after just a few months or less.

Huh! This is news to me. I've been on cypro for the past 4-5 years.
Then again, i'm never quite content with that hospital in general.. lol

how much hair removal did you do and where (if any)?

Thanks for posting and wishing you a speedy recovery, looks like he did a good job!

I had several laser sessions on just the perineum area. I think it was only about four. He doesn't recommend hair removal in any other areas and also said that leftover hairs can still be removed after surgery, if needed

Thank you! Did you also wait 6 months after your last laser session until you had the surgery?

I did not. My last laser session was about two weeks before surgery.

Ok! I’m just curious about this because they seem adamant with me about leaving 6 months between my last laser/electrolysis and surgery. Did they give you permission to have just 2 weeks or they didn’t ask/you didn’t tell? Sorry to pry, I’m just trying to understand why they insist on 6 months (or not, in your case). Thanks!

Is this with suporn? They didn't ask or tell me about leaving a certain time gap They didn't even require it in the first place, it was just a recommendation.i know other places do require it do I imagine those also have stricter rules maybe?

With suporn yes, they even reiterated it to me over email a few days ago. Strange. Anyway, if they didn’t mention it to you it can’t be that important really.

Sorry to ask but why couldnt you use the toilet ajd had to get another catheter? Is that common?

Internal swelling can apply pressure on the urethra, which makes it hard to pass urine.

Its not uncommon, but it's still a minority case. I think 3 or 4 of the girls I came into contact with at the hotel (10-12ish in total) had to have another catheter inserted. They all had it out within a few days though.

Common enough to be mentioned in the booklet they give you, but I can't tell you exactly how common. I believe it has to do with swelling and irritation of the eurethral tissue. After removing the packing they check if you can pee, if you can't, you get a new catheter for another 5 days before they remove it.
