Necrotic tissue is black and void of blood. It can also be very painful. Necrotic tissue is usually attributed to lack of blood supply. This looks like granulation tissue. It is common with bottom surgery. I'm not a medical professional and you should ask your surgeon or doctor about it. If you do a basic search you will find out why this happens.

I’m just freaking out! I’m waiting on a reply from the doctor but that may be Monday. I’m just trying to get opinions because I was thinking about going to the ER.

No, no no no, dear. It's fine, just keep it clean and dry. As Elfinpanda said it's likely granulation.

Hah, I hear you. I still do half my pees in the shower so I can rinse with running water. Habits formed in healing stuck with me.

The main concern is the white bit?

Yes the white/yellow. I was reading that necrosis can start from lack of blood flow and oxygen. That’s why I’m scared because I took a long trip yesterday. I’m having a revision in 2 weeks I hope this doesn’t interfere with it.

Here is a link to some photos of granulation tissue. It's basically scar healing. It's possible this is what's happening but this is speculation.

Hi. Dr Fensterer here, plastic surgeon. No, that is not necrosis. As said before, just keep clean and follow your surgeon's recommendations.

I’m 3 weeks post op and this appeared last night. I took a 6 hour ride yesterday I’m certain that has something to do with it.

This is totally normal and really nothing to worry about, it's all part of the healing process. Tissue will continue to slough off over time and this will heal as long as you keep it dry.. Try using sterile gauze, changing your gauze throughout the day. I personally used 2x2 gauze pads for reference. Hope that helps!

The cures that can be applied for Granulation are both a risk of killing cells not required to be killed that can risk sensitivity and should only be applied by professionals that are confident and qualified for transurgeries

I sent the doctor a message. I’m supposed to have a revision in 2 weeks. Hopefully it doesn’t interfere with that.

Hi, you appear to have both Necrotic tissue (the white/ish tissue). The rest is granulation. Neither of them pose any long term issues but must be addressed ONLY BY your GCS surgeon.

This looks exactly like something I had at 8 weeks post op. Does the yellowish stuff feel kinda rubbery? Mine did. My surgeon said it was dead tissue from a bacterial infection (staph or staph-like). A quick and simple surgery was required to remove it after a round of antibiotics to kill the bacteria. It left a hole in my labia which took some time to heal and close up, but now it's totally healed and everything looks completely fine and normal. It looks way scarier than it is. Dont panic. Show your surgeon ASAP, and they can fix you up.
