Facial feminization surgery with Facialteam Spain. Before and 2 months post op. Anyone else feel like they are not as conservative as people say they are?

That’s great work. And I’ve never found their work conservative, just classy and natural. If my insurance covered European surgery, they would be in my top three in the world Edit: you look stunning, btw!

I've heard a lot of conservative comments about them. But this just proves wrong. Well, to be honest I didn't expect this good result. Haha

i've seen some pretty conservative work and some very aggressive work, i honestly have no idea what determines which you get! but i think when some (not all or even most lol! but a good chunk) people complain about aggression with ft what they mean is that ft doesn't do the really round style you can get in america (because europeans are generally more angular)

I think a lot of it comes down to where the nerves are in your face, in addition to aesthetic goals. (natural vs. model).

When I went there I spoke with some of the surgeons about the more technical side of things and what they do to prevent complications. One thing that kept coming up was the position of the main nerves.

On your chin, for example, you have an important big nerve ending coming out of the bone (the trigeminal nerve). They take a CT-scan before the surgery so they can make sure they don't cut it. But it's not always in the same place exactly. It might sit a bit higher or lower on the chin, affecting how much they can cut.

Same goes for your eye sockets, there are some major nerves around there too. They can actually move these around a bit but not by much. As I understood it, they would use precision tools to dig a little canal in your eyesocket to move the nerve out of the way, correct the orbital bones, and the gently put it back again.

These nerves getting cut is what cause a lot of the more serious complications you hear about with more 'aggresive' surgeons. In my opinion they gamble too much on their own skill.

ya you never know what stuff looks like underneath which is why i tend to give reputable surgeons the benefit of the doubt, especially if the 'after' pic is only a couple months post-op and there's still a ton of swelling on the nose and lower face. it still seems REALLY important to clearly lay out your definitions of aggressive and natural when you're consulting with surgeons tho.

6
Mon Mar 28 16:57:22 2022 UTC
(1 child)

Well, not everyone likes aggressive results. Some just like subtle changes. I think that's what brings people to them.

Not saying its not impressive, because it is. But I'm almost positive they're using a different focal length for the before/after photos-- the angle is completely different on her ears, etc. I would be interested to see more realistic before/after images.

16
Mon Mar 28 15:09:23 2022 UTC
(3 children)

Well, I don't have professional camera. But you can still see huge changes to the face. I would probably have to go back or find the same camera to get the same after photo.

23
Mon Mar 28 15:15:43 2022 UTC
(2 children)

Ah okay, I thought this was a professional image taken by Facial Team and that they were deliberately being deceptive -- I didn't realize this was your personal image. I just immediately got suspicious since different focal lengths can be used to give the impression that the jaw is of different widths, but I understand its tricky to take perfect before/after pictures on your own.

You look great btw, didn't mean to imply you didn't! Thanks for posting.

Mon Mar 28 15:22:34 2022 UTC

It doesn't look different because it was taken with the camera that is at the back of the phone. And the after is with selfie camera. But you made a good point.

And thank you. πŸ’šπŸ™πŸ»

Back camera and selfie one do actually take different pictures due to focal length and distortion. You should try taking a picture from over 2 meters away atleast with back camera and zoom in if needed and compare, or since you wont have a before picture like this atleaat try replicate same pic as the before and see how similar different they are

1

the angle is completely different on her ears, etc.

Do note that in the first picture she's wearing a headband that might push the ears out a bit. It's a rather bulky one in my experience.

It's much more difficult to feminize an older transgirls face head and neck. All the tissue is different than younger girls, the surgery is ultimately more aggressive. Just adding a face and neck lift is brutal all by itself. I had FFS with Jumaily 10/21 and I'm still recovering from it. Younger girls with much less aggressive FFS look great in couple months. But then they don't need face and neck lift etc etc. Aging adds difficulty to it and from what I've seen older girls seem to do better with aggressive surgeons. FT is known for being conservative because they are, not that there is anything wrong with that, but to say that they aren't isn't really true..

And to say that the reason some don't get good result is because of the "canvas" they were "given", as if they were born with that canvas is about as arrogant and insensitive as anything I've ever heard.

Again FT produces astounding results I wouldn't argue that and we're I younger I would probably have gone to them.

But tbh what FT suggested me to do at my consult would have left me very disappointed for sure.

The post for the most part was about FT being very conservative which they absolutely are. And the "procedures that speaks to that" are in fact ffs procedures anyway. I said it often takes aggressive FFS to feminize us when we're older and it does and that's why FT isn't the best choice for us. Again it certainly did me and had I had FT do it I think I woke have been disappointed. So I'm my opinion, and that's all it is, very simply it seems more difficult to feminize older male sex persons. And that has little to do with canvas they were given as if they were born ugly. OMG! And if they were and it did why would anyone say something like that is beyond me.

They seem to be a bit strangely random. I've seen some results that look slightly more masc on the after on their website

It seems like they're brow bone/chin experts bur outside of that they do nothing. So people with masc brow bones (which o have which gives me hope) come out looking drastically different

This is not a conservative result at all, but of all the results that I have seen by Facial Team most have been very subtle. Did you ask them to be a little more aggressive than usual? x

2
Mon Mar 28 18:32:09 2022 UTC

I just explained everything in detail. I think you have to be very strict with them otherwise they might take every decision in their hands. Also I think more aggressive work can give you more complications and revisions. So that might it.

1

I'm not sure about that. Might be the hair that makes it rounder.

1

Yeah it could be the hair. Hairstyles make a huge difference as they frame the face x

I'm one of those who think they are too conservative! But looking at your pictures, I love how dramatic the jaw and eyebrow lift (?) are!! Still not sure if I will go to them, simply because for THAT kinda money I expect more drastic changes.

Gorgeous!! It seems to me that FacialTeam used to be too conservative but has lately improved a lot. Only thing I wouldn't personally let them touch is the nose/lips area as I feel there are better surgeon for that (obviously you have a great nose, it's just that, generally speaking, they don't always make the best work there).

3
Mon Mar 28 17:23:41 2022 UTC

I've heard mixed feelings about the nose as well. I had rhinoplasty with them and so far I'm very happy. They did everything I asked for.

You started with a good shape, usually they are not the best with the bigger/more masculine ones, whereas with forehead and jaw they really do change things. Also, what I Iike about them is that their Virtual Simulations are less aggressive than the actual work, a lot of surgeon would make you look stunning on their simulations only to disappoint you later.

I don't think it has anything to do with "canvas" as you put it....wow.

Compared to a much younger transgirls, under say 30 who have been exposed to testosterone poisoning much longer, they will usually for obvious reasons need a surgeon who isn't at all conservative since everything is bigger. And typically from what I've seen, FT isn't necessarily a good choice for them because they are in fact too conservative.

And this isn't slamming FT at all, they really do produce very beautiful results. And it's not just FT that are conservative, many surgeons are because it's safer. And example I had to have extensive reconstruction and FT who I consulted would have been a poor choice.
