Wow, believe it or not, I just came across your post from your initial consult doing research to get started myself. And to check your profile and see you’re hours out of surgery?? What a coincidence. I was so sad to see that you had to postpone so long. I’m glad your day has come! Hope your recovery goes smoothly. Looking forward to any update.

You're in the best hands at that hospital. Plus, it's kinda fun to control the whole room with the tablet.

My single piece of advice: don't drink carbonated beverages right after laparoscopic surgery. Good luck! Easy healing.

Yes, I tried the ginger ale. Ummm, nope, won’t be trying it again! I very much agree with you!

Do you mind if I ask which procedure of srs you had?

Peritoneal Pull Through Vaginoplasty. The surgery is robotically assisted through two trocar ports in the abdomen. One at the naval, and one in the lower left abdomen.

Ummm, nah. I’m a Signalman Senior Chief Petty Officer USN (Ret). I’m Haze Grey and Underway, all the way, every day! And that will never change!

As my Senior Chief used to tell us, “If you can’t stand the roar of the big guns, stay off the main deck!”

No, just losing the main gun and gaining a missile tube .

What is that mirror that you bought on Amazon? That’s a very nice one to see your new parts. I have one, but it doesn’t light up.

Mahalo thank you in Hawaiian. I live in Hawai’i and had my vulvoplasty in Portland, Oregon at OHSU with Dr. Daniel D. Dugi in 2019 before Covid Pandemic arrived three months after I flew back to Hawai’i to return to work in December. I still want my vaginoplasty, to me it’s important part of my transition. The only reason I stop short of it at first was the given time length to be out for surgery provided by my work place. So I had to get back in time to go back to work and not miss out on work days. Sad, and unfortunate. 😔

Thank you for sharing! I'm having surgery there later this year.

How's your pain levels? How bothersome is the catheter?

You are welcome. Details to follow. I highly recommend taking advantage of the Prepare for Surgery, Heal Faster program. It is offered free (you do have to buy the book, available on Amazon). The program is a game changer. May I suggest a shift in your thinking and remove “pain” from your vocabulary. Instead, think of your “comfort level” on a scale of 1-10. Pain is a negative connotation and you want to stay away from those descriptors. I wish you all the best❣️🥰

Update 05/23/24: This Team has added a member specifically for supporting the Prepare for Surgery, Heal Faster Program and they now provide the book. Now some two-years (plus) post-op, I am so happy!

Thank you❣️ Yer gonna love it here! Come with a positive attitude. Let your nurses know you will roll with whatever your care plan calls for, and DON’T be a pain in the ass patient.

This place is amazing. The staff go out of their way to take damned good care of you. IMHO, you owe it to them to be positive and cooperative. I’m in Day 3 today. My comfort level meter is seriously pegged at “10”. Pls check out some of my other comments responses in this thread for other thoughts shared.

YOU are about to join the RBb-L Sisterhood! My best to you❣️🥰🤗s🦋
