Maybe they should do an xray or ct of the abdomen to rule out a bowel obstruction. It is most likely a bad ileus.

^This!

If you aren't still in the hospital, get back there. If you are there, get someone to check you out immediately. Not being able to poo after surgery can be a bad thing - not being able to after a surgery involving a bowel resection can be a very bad thing. It most likely is fine - just lingering constipation - but you don't want to take any chances. Even if just constipation, the build up of pressure could potentially compromise the anastomosis where they reconnected the two ends of your bowel.

You went through a lot to get this far on your journey... do everything you can to assure the best possible outcome.

Your doctor, or any competent member of the medical staff, should know what to do. Most likely this will be more than just an xray, since they are going to need to be able to visualize the soft tissues.

I had colon vaginoplasty myself, about 4 years ago. I was in the hospital for a week, which is normal. I think I was eating food by around day 4 or 5. I never had a huge stomach at any point in my recovery though. What is your doctor saying?

I don't know the colon version of the surgery as well... but I could suspect that has something to do with it - the big question is if you have pain or feel unusual or have a fever?

Definitely involve your doctor.

Fever is potentially very bad. It’s a sign of infection and you need to consult Dr Juta about it immediately. If he is not available I’d consult someone else.

How has the aftercare been with Dr Juta?

With a fever definately see a doctor asap. Are you still in the hospital or did you go to a hotel already?
