When are you allowed to sit?

Absolutely no sitting for 3-4 weeks. With the understanding that the less I sit after that the better.

I fly home on Saturday so other than that, no sitting.

Even in a BBL chair or pillow? How do people manage to get an entire month off work for this?!

Who did your surgery?

Shifrin in Chicago. 100% would recommend. Great experience.

So from what I was told and what I heard from the various nurses, every surgeon has different rules around sitting. What I'm taking away from all the different things I've heard is not "zero sitting" per se, but the less you sit the better.

I applied for four weeks off, we'll see.

They said return to work in 1-2 weeks but absolutely ZERO exercise, no lifting, etc., for four weeks. Like sis, do you know where I work???

Is the difference very noticeable & is it worth it?

So.... I know or have spoken to a lot of transwomen who want really aggressive surgery. That's not really my bag. I want all of my surgeries to be natural looking ish.

I had a "low weight" bbl. I got my BMI up to about 27.5 ish before surgery. He got ~450ccs in each cheek. And I swear to God a little in my hips.

Very subtle. But definitely noticeable. It just looks... Like normal. It's just really cool. It's not Kim K or Barbie whatever. It's just a very obviously female lower half. It's awesome. And has a half life of 10ish years he said. 100% would do again.

I’m curious what he means by half life of 10 years? I’d always heard that fat transfer was permanent, that whatever you had after the initial recovery period was there for life. Can you say more about this?

I don't know how to format this stuff, and I'm on mobile, so I just copy-pasted the links. I'm sorry.

I'm not a doctor. And I work at Starbucks. But it's in a really, like staggeringly high end area. I know and talk to just an astounding number of women who get or have gotten plastic surgery. (Incidentally surgery is way more common than I thought.) And bbls are so insanely common these days.

The number one thing I've heard from women is "if the surgeon tells you it's permanent, walk away immediately." And I hear you have to get it touched up after 10-15 years. YMMV.

Ah, got it. Those articles are consistent with my understanding. Thanks!

How much did it cost out of pocket? Did insurance cover any?

It was like two ish months from the day I called asking for a list of covered body contouring surgeons to the day I scheduled the surgery.

What do you do instead of sitting? How are you supposed to lay in bed?

On your stomach. Which isn't great with the chest pain, but it's for a good cause.
