Lidocaine interferes with healing, so not great early on. I believe Dr Chettawut recommends it, at least sometimes, so not sure what that’s about.

Should be ok. You’re well past the healing stage.
Don’t use too much as lidocaine is toxic and it probably absorbs quite well there. It also takes an hour or so to work.

I would guess you can use as much as you need, but don’t get carried away thinking it’s totally safe. Probably wash it out afterwards too. Also, I assume we’re talking normal 5% lidocaine here, not a super strong formulation or one with dmso.
If you really want to be cautious look out for symptoms of lidocaine toxicity and have someone around who knows you’re using it.

Don’t take what I say too seriously. I’ve read a fair bit about lidocaine, but I’m not a doctor. Good to hear it worked though.
I can confirm that Dr Chettawut’s nurses allow the use of lidocaine on the vaginal dilators for the first few days after surgery (I has SRS with Chettawut 5 years ago). The pain would have been too much without it. But long term it’s probably not a good idea.
The thing about the neovagina is it doesn't lead anywhere like a natal vagina..things don't clean it out naturally. Like you might think lidocaine in a vagina is ok and a gyno might be like yeah it's fine the uterus will clean it all out in a months time. And you might put some lidocaine in your mouth and a dentist might be like yeah it's cool it'll get washed out and you'll pee/poop the rest out after it gets metabolized into whatever. But like the neovagina doesn't have anything like that to clean or take care of stuff that goes in, it just chills there. Some girls won't have sex without a condom because of this. Like stuff wears off eventually, it's not going to keep you numb forever or anything but still. So like, I don't have a solid answer for you but more of a philosophical answer of like be mindful of your anatomy and like how it does things, and be careful about what you put into your vagina.

Yeah that's what I mean, like if you don't have a dr to say yeah this is a good idea or not then its best to just be cautious and mindful
You can get a script for a Valium vaginal suppository to help with pain. Lidocaine creams are almost always “external use only”

It’s a compounded medication as I recall, so you will a compounding pharmacy to fill it. It’s basically a cream that melts at body temp. You put it in, let it melt for a while and then you’re good to go.
