Hi, I'm Shoshanna, I'm from Argentina. Next month, I'm going through bottom surgery (vaginoplasty). So, I'm making this post to ask, what are some things you should know before going through? My doctor is very communicative and has answered all my questions so far, but I've only asked what came to mind first. So yeah, I've got this whole month to prepare, ask questions, etc.

Anyways, that's it. Anything helps!

eat lots of protein as it helps wound healing, if your supermarket has those workout bars full of protein get a bunch of those. I probably ate like 80 of them during the first month.

Costco has “organic sipping chicken broth” that has like 9g of protein in every cup and almost no sodium. I’m planning on essentially living off of that, lol.

Would you mind saying who your surgeon is?

Dr. Linares. But as I said, I'm from Argentina, you wouldn't know him if you're not from the country.

Do you havea link or any other information on him? I'd like to add him to the wiki here.

Dope!! I just read about the peritoneum pull through method. It’s a small area of the stomach lining the can be pulled down to create the canal. It self lubricates and in a short time won’t require dilating daily. It’s pretty wild. Good luck

My surgeon said that was a myth :

How does the self lubrication work? Like I've heard some people say surgeries that result in self lubrication have the issue that the lubrication is constant and that you essentially need to wear panty liners 24/7. Would you know much about that based on what you've read about that particular surgery?

I think it’s because it’s actual internal tissues. Not external skin turned inside out. I’ll try and link the article I read
