Feel free to AMA, i still have the pressure dressing on but it looks pretty swollen and lopsided. Not too concerned at this point.
How long were you out for ?
Were your legs completely numb / paralysed when you woke up ?
How long did it take the spinal block to wear off ?
Was the PCA working straight away or did they have to turn it on when you were in pain ?
Out from 11am to 3pm, apparently surgery was 2 hours of that. I was dreaming when I woke up.
Oh yeah, I think I could move my toes and I could tell the leg squeezer was turned on too, but I could barely move my legs for maybe an hour or two? Managed to get myself on my side as I am a side sleeper
The PCA is morphine right? They gave me some when I woke up but they haven’t let me have any since. I think was annoying when I had it after waking up hahaha.
I was sick last night so I’ve been on IV paracetamol instead. It is pretty effective but I’m gonna try to convince them to give me morphine since the pressure dressing hurts a lot.

I had my first NHS appointment on Tuesday, they aren’t even giving estimates rn. I’ve heard 6-24 months after getting your second opinion.
Paid £15k privately right before they upped the price to £23k. Took 3 months for my private consultation but got delayed by 8 months due to non medical matters.
How long did it tske for you to go frok first appointment with NHS GIC to your 2nd opinion? And was it only 3 total appt or more
Haha love the title and congrats!

Congratulations! I was there 3 months ago today, which has gone both horribly slowly and horribly quickly. Best of luck!
Congratulations! I had mine done with Miss Rashid last month, she’s a genius. The next week is going to be tough, not gonna lie but it’s so worth it!
Funny I lived bitch thank you I needed to laugh right now hope you have a quick recovery.
Congratulations 🎈🎊
Wooo Hooo! Congratulations - been following your journey! Takes me back, was exactly 8 weeks ago that I was in same position 1 day post!! To be honest the whole thing feels a bit surreal now!!!
Wishing you a speedy, complication-free recovery. Enjoy the food! If you see the 50-something friendly guy who often delivers the food (and cups of coffee with biscuits). - You'll know him - Say Hi from Karen (not sure he will recall me!)
If you have any Q's or need to pass the time talking nonsense while in hosp, DM's open.
Congrats once again!
Oh, and tomorrow that damned pressure bandage comes off and you'll get a wee look. Hand the nurse your smartphone for a pic. Oh, and when it comes to the (eventual) poop, mid-poop-flush many times - I decommissioned the loo!!! lol.
